BGC Hostel Makati

BGC Hostel Makati is one of the three BGC Hostels in Metro Manila. The other two are BGC Hostel Manila and BGC Hostel Quezon City. Oh, by the way, BGC does not mean Bonifacio Global City but “Be at your Greatest Comfort”. πŸ™‚

Among the three BGC Hostels, the Makati branch has the most beautiful design especially in the common areas. It is located in Danlig Street, Makati City, a few steps away from EDSA. Going there, I took the MRT and alighted at Buendia Station. I must say it was a long walk from the train station to the hostel, but I don’t really mind, it’s cardio. πŸ™‚ The hostel is also near Mercury Drugstore hence you can buy things that you might need during your stay, including snacks and toiletries.

BGC HOSTEL MAKATI: THE CHECK-IN PROCESS

The hostel was not hard to find since you just have to make a turn upon reaching Mercury Drugstore until you see the turquoise blue building. I was pleasantly greeted by the security guard and the receptionist on-duty just asked me to fill up a form. After that, I was provided a towel, a wi-fi access, and a room key and I was escorted at the second floor where my room is.

THE ROOM

The room was clean and well-lit. Guests are guaranteed privacy by the curtains provided in all sides of the bed. The aircon provides a relaxing temperature as well. Lockers are provided in the room but you have to secure the codes at the reception area. Each bed has its own lampshade and electrical outlets. I was able to properly plan my trip the next day at the comfort and privacy of my own bed. There is also an area upstairs exclusively for ladies.

THE COMMON AREA

The common area is very comfy, chic and very colorful that it looks like a Google workplace. It has sofa beds and beanbags where guests can comfortably sit and be surrounded by beautiful murals and interiors. There are also computers provided that can be used by guests who do not have laptops.

MY BGC HOSTEL MAKATI EXPERIENCE

Overall, I must say that my BGC Hostel Makati experience is a good one. I wish I could stay longer, but I have a day trip in a nearby province planned for the holiday. I highly recommend BGC Hostel Makati to those who happen to be backpacking in Manila or working individuals who are looking for a place to stay overnight to escape the traffic.
