Accommodation in Makati: Junction Hostels

(This is a sponsored review of Junction Hostels in Makati City.)

Hostels are becoming one of the most popular accommodations for backpackers who are traveling on a budget. Here in the Philippines, particularly in Manila, there are numerous hostels that can satisfy the budget requirements of travelers. These hostels provide comfortable beds and beautiful common areas. Poblacion area was where a lot of accommodation in Makati are located, and I was lucky enough to have experienced a nice stay at one of the hostels in Makati: Junction Hostels.

At the entrance, you will be greeted and pointed by the security guard to the reception area. Checking in will be a breeze if you have an online reservation. The reception area also serves as the counter for the hostel’s restaurant. Upon checking in, you will be asked to deposit Php200 for the keycard and you will be provided wi-fi password. A hostel staff will escort you to your room.

THE WAY GOING TO THE ROOM

You will be needing the key card to access the stairs going to your room. I really loved the design of the hostel, something I am really looking for in an accommodation in Makati (being the design junkie I am). In fact, when I was taking the stairs to my room, it looks like I am going to a parking lot!

THE ROOM

I stayed in a 4-bed female dorm room. The room I stayed in has four single beds instead of bunk beds which made me happy because I will not worry about moving around or even going up and down the bunk bed. Towels are provided in every bed. There are electrical outlets provided in every bed. There is also a hanger-shaped metal hanging on every bed so that you can hang your clothes and other stuff.

THE BATHROOMS

Common bathrooms are present in the hostel and the best thing I liked about here is that, unlike other hostels in Makati, shampoo and liquid soap are provided. Yay! Hair blowers are also present for a good hair day.

THE COMMON AREA

The common area is also where the restaurant and bar are located. It has an industrial-themed interior and I found out that it also serves as a co-working space. The bar has a beautiful shipping container design where you can also buy your food since they serve breakfast food all-day. There is also a kitchen area available for the guests to use.

There are also computers provided for guests who would like to search for their destinations or update their social media accounts. I love the Makati City map design of the glass wall behind the computers! 🙂

I also love the world map located at one side of the common area where guests are encouraged to pin their photos in the countries they came from. Represent!

I am not really into having my photos taken (that’s why you will seldom see photos of me in my Instagram account) hence I only take photos of everything except me (I can’t even take a good selfie, guys). The hostel staff was really kind enough to offer to have photos of me taken around the common area. Talk about Filipino hospitality. 😉

Design-wise, Junction Hostels stands out among other hostels in Makati

To sum it all up, I had a memorable stay at Junction Hostel. I love the kindness of the hostel staff, I love the hostel’s interior design, and I love how every citizen of the world is welcome to the place. It is also a good place to meet new and interesting people. Junction Hostel will definitely make sure that you will have an awesome experience as a traveler in a very affordable price. Two thumbs up!
