Before anything else, let me tell you this: Pink is my favorite color, and among hostels in Manila, I did not know there is such a place like Pink Manila Hostel.
I’ve been hearing about Pink Manila Hostel for a long time already as one of those hostels you should consider when you happen to be in Manila. I was surprised that it is right in the middle of San Andres area, a place not really frequented by backpackers. I haven’t been to that side of the city, anyway, but it was good that I had the chance to visit and spend the night in this amazing place.
It is just a few walks away from the LRT Line 1 Vito Cruz Station. You can either walk at Estrada Street of Pablo Ocampo Street and from Bautista Street, you can already see the yellow building (yes, it’s a yellow building and not pink) where the hostel is located. There is a gym at the Ground Floor and you have to take the elevator going to the hostel which is located at the 5th floor. Upon riding the elevator, the song Waves (by Mr Probz) is playing at the elevator’s speakers. I was ecstatic because Waves is my all-time favorite Tropical House song!
As soon as the elevator door opened at 5th floor, I already felt the party vibe. The hostel is so pink (!!!) and so lively.
The Check-In Process
I was assisted by Joe for my check-in. The check-in was a smooth process if you have a prior reservation since they are just going to ask for your ID. The penthouse dorm room is located at the 7th floor. While looking around, there are a lot of foreign guests at the common area, drinking and talking to each other.
The Common Area
Oh, by the way, guys, you have to know about this. Pink Manila Hostel has a swimming pool! And no other hostel in Manila area has one (as far as I know)!
They also have couches, tables and chairs, billiard table, and bookshelf in the common area.
I stayed at a dorm-type fan room which can accommodate up to 20 people. The weather that night was not really hot, hence staying in a fan room works just fine. I chose an upper bed deck so that I am close to the ceiling fan. The dorm room is so pink (I love it!). They also have common bathroom, shower areas, a dressing table with mirror, and a locker room (which you have to provide your own padlock).
Oh, by the way (again), Pink Manila Hostel provides you a good view of the Makati Central Business District skyline!
PINK MANILA HOSTEL BREAKFAST
Pink Manila Hostel provides a complimentary breakfast to its guests which is available from 7AM-10AM. Like the usual breakfasts in hostels in Manila, they provide loaf breads with different choices of spreads as well as coffee and tea. Every guest is entitled to 2 breads. You can also toast your breads in the toaster. Pink Manila Hostel implements a clean as you go policy where you have to clean your used cups and utensils, just like all hostels in Manila and around the world.
PINK MANILA HOSTEL stands out among other hostels in Manila area
There are so many good hostels in Metro Manila, but Pink Manila Hostel is a good choice if you want to have an authentic hostel experience. Its location is also close to the airport thus I highly recommend this place to those backpackers who happen to have a layover in Manila. The way going to Pink Manila Hostel is not the usual traffic areas in Manila. And lastly, who does not love a pool party in a hostel?
